Golden Lake Paddle 8.13.24

Waters were calm, but with a heavy load of green algae, particularly at the boat ramp. It did add color to our cake, however, as a location-appropriate garnish. Along the route we saw a few interesting birds, including a mechanical one, as a paraplane flew over us a few times. Fortunately, it did not deposit any droppings upon our heads. Almost all kayaks, but Tadd did a great job representing the canoe constituency with his flag-endowed red canoe.  I brought the Stellar Egret, which Jay told me was missing an “R” (as in Regret). But he missed part of it, as it should have been “No Regret”, as it’s a heck of a nice paddling kayak. 😉  It was great seeing Jay, Fred, and others back on the water again. The attached images are not as clear as usual, as I was taking the shots through a plastic phone bag, but that’s the price of avoiding expensive dunkings. Thanks again to Louise for providing some great paddling vittles, and to Mike for calling another great paddle outing!
