5.13.25 FW Kayaking Group: Marsh Lake

Only 3 of us showed up to brave the elements this evening, but we were rewarded quite a nice paddle. And a good dose of liquid sunshine. When Mike, Dan, and I departed the ramp, the rains had stopped, and we figured  it was our usual paddler blessing. But before we had finished circling March Lake, the rains made their presence known – and unmistakenly! We were treated to a refreshing rain until about halfway across Snow Lake. But then they stopped, and it was almost a magical experience: the waters were extremely clear and completely calm, with no other boats anywhere on the lakes. Just the quiet swishing of our paddles and the gentle boat wakes rolling off the sides. After two hours and 8.2 miles, we were back at the ramp  and pleased with the day. Many thanks to Mike for calling a great paddle – and faithfully showing up in the rain!
