6.3.25 FW Kayaking Group: Oliver Lake Chain

What a great evening on the water! Warm air, lots of wind and waves (although you could stick to the upwind shore and not experience the joy), and just the joy of a good paddle workout. 5 of us took to the water in 4 kayaks and 1 canoe. We more or less followed the classic route of Oliver/Olin/Martin/Smith, but while the other paddlers headed over initially to see the dam, I (coming slightly later) didn’t know their plans and I headed across to run the route. As I started to return, I came across the rest of the gang, so I retraced part of the route and joined in with the festivities. Cool things we saw included a bald eagle swooping down low across the water in front of us near the swim area, and some Amish backing their horse-drawn buggy and boat trailer to the water to retrieve their fishing boat. No cookies, but a great time was had by all.
